Coast Hosted the Adult Midwest Conference competition at Highland Middle School, Highland, IL.

Ten Confluence athletes participated in the adult Midwest Conference tournament hosted by Coast at Highland Middle School. Players shown in the team picture above from left to right include: Aleki Fualau, Tim Fornachon, Cameron Oestringer (Cameron attends Highland Middle School), Irfet Omeragic, Alberto Friedmann, Greg Grose, Colin DeWitt, Brent Bicket (player/coach), Chris DeWall and Casey Gwaltney.

Coast played three games on Saturday. While we didn't win any that day, Coast played better each game. In the third game Coast played the perennial conference champs Kansas Wheelhawks dead even through the first half. The Wheelhawks had just a bit too much horsepower for Coast and they outplayed us the second half. On Sunday, Coast defeated the Iowa Chairiots.

The Confluence is always working on recruiting officials to become wheelchair certified. In the picture above, Brad King gives feedback to three officials who got their first taste of wheelchair basketball this weekend as Ken Church looks on.

Coast at MIZZOU

Coast competes in Kansas City

October 21 & 22, five of Coasts 15 team members made the trip to Kansas City to compete in the first adult tournament of the season. For Greg Grose and Erfit Omeragic, it was their first basketball tournament and for 14 year old Cameron Oestringer, it was his first adult tournament. Even though we lost all three games, the team worked hard and showed great promise. Our next competition is Saturday October 28th at Mizzou.
